1. How much does a Police Check Cost?

Our National Police History Checks for individuals are $65+gst

For Employers, Organisations & Recruiters our corporate rates are from $45.00 (subject to volume), please contact us for a quote.

2. How long will a Police Check take?

After we have received your original paperwork through the mail, initial screening is done in Real Time, and it is possible to have Final Results within minutes. On average, 80% of all National Police History checks are processed within 1-2 business days. In cases where there is a 'possible discloseable outcome', the processing time is usually between 2 and 15 business days

4. How do I go about applying for a Police Check?

5. How do I pay for my Police Check?

Individuals will be required to pay via Credit Card (Visa,Mastercard only) at the time they submit their Police Check request.

Companies have the choice to be invoiced at the end of each month, or they can pay individually for each check via Credit Card.

7. What does 'Certified ID' mean?

Certified ID is a photocopy of a document of identification, that has been sighted by an Authorised Person and signed off as being a true copy of the original document.

8. How do I get my ID certified?

Correctly Certified ID will include the following statement: 'I certify this to be a true copy of the original document as sighted by me (insert name) at (insert location where sighted) on (insert date)'. The person certifying the ID must sign the statement and add their Authority Level or ID number.

10. How long is my Police Check valid for?

Your Police Check is valid as at the date the report is issued.

It is the discretion of the organisation with whom you are applying for employment as to how long after the report date they will accept the police check

11. What does Possible Disclosable outcomes mean?

Possible Disclosable Outcomes means that there has been an Initial Name Match against your name, indicating that the name or a variation of the name submitted is appearing in a State or Territory Police Database. Further screening will take place to determine whether the Initial Match is against the applicant, or against another individual with the same or similar name.

12. I received a SMS regarding a Police Check, what does this mean?

This SMS is a friendly reminder to check your email account to complete your Police Check form, which has been emailed to you. If you can't find the email, and you have checked all folders including Junk and Spam folders, please contact our office.

13. How can Precise Background Services check the personal or private information of a candidate?

In order to obtain this information we are required to get consent or authority from the candidate in line with the Australian Privacy provisions. When a check is requested there will be documentation that the candidate is required to return to us, which will include their consent to access private information on their behalf.

14. Is my private information secure?

Precise Background Services have the compliant security measures and processes in place to protect the information you send us, as required under the Australian Privacy Policy.

15. Is a Precise Background Services National Police History check accepted throughout Australia?

Precise Background Services are an accredited CrimTrac broker and therefore our results and subsequent certificate is readily accepted throughout Australia. CrimTrac data is obtained directly from all State Police jurisdictions which provides a comprehensive summary of an individual's criminal history and background in Australia.
